maybe the key switch went bad, I'd look if theres power there first

download a copy of the fsm and look in the electrical section you can fallow the circuits... wont be a quick process, have some beers and take time at it

Headligts are not controlled by the ignition switch, so that can't be the problem.

I'd say bad battery but more likely one of the battery terminals is corroded or unfit for duty in some other way. The battery ground goes to the starters long attach bolt and it's unlikely it suddenly fell off. Same with the battery positive terminal just falling off the starter solenoid.

The battery positve post has two cables. One is smaller and IT feeds the engine bay fuse box. If it is not making a good connection at the front of the engine bay fuse box, that could cause no headlights etc. Or making no contact with the battery positive terminal. See FSM and the wiring diagrams and you'll see that the above makes sense.

Or go to the engine bay fuse box. Pull any fuse in there, matters not which. Then put your digital meter negative lead on the battery neg post and the meters positive lead on either of the two blades where you pulled that fuse out. ONE of the two should show batt power. the most fwd one I believe.

If no power is there, then the smaller wire on the batt positive post is not feeding the engine bay fuse box. Hence no headlights.
