You can make plenty of power , s4 just have weaker irons that will crack easier than the thick cast s5.

I'm going for a long term goal of 300whp

I've seen 400+ whp on a stock port block , you just need the right Turbo running high boost, along with all the supporting mods.

i can believe the power output with supporting mods just because forced induction motors benefit more from mods, but stock ecu, which all of the rotary owners i know swear is crap! ehhh ok.....

FCD, manually retard the timing, lot of fuel pump, lots of injector, and lots of fuel pressure.
It's crude and won't pass emissions, but it can be done. But in this day and age, there are far better and safer ways to go about it.

i'm sure he had an FCD...

the total mod list was

reman engine
HKS manifold/wg
60-1 turbo
RB turbo back exhaust
HKS AIC with x680cc injectors.
FCD
custom front mount, same sparco core as the FD guys run/ran
some fuel pump, i think.

car ran 12 second 1/4 miles in 1994-1995....

there is another guy who used to be on here, forced7 or something, and he had a similar setup, but he was actually making more power

was it a street car or just for racing?

there is, just not on this forum, as it wasn't around at the time. you might Email ReTed, or actually i saw paul last weekend.

the other fast guy was here, he sold the car before the Rx7 forum, but its in the sig, https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo...t-track-64299/

there are lots of fast cars built before the forum, one of my favorites is this
180mph on the straights in 1937...
