Because it doesn't fit without major modifications. Your question was answered, and if you don't like it, then talk to Mazda. What do you want from us? lol

You can read about the major modifications here if you like.

BTW, the Engine Management forum is about engine management computers, ignition, carbs, etc. I am moving this thread to the 2Gen forum.

Why don't you do the entire swap and just get the engine rebuilt or buy a j-spec? If he is selling it of course.

No you cannot bolt on all the turbo parts from a turbo car to a non turbo car. as you say without major modification... It won't work... It requires gobs of custom work... and fabrication and a bank account of about 1-5 thousand dollars depending. You really need to search... in two monutes of searching I found five threads that ask this exact question.
Good Luck...
You can learn alot from the forum, some people know alot... some people think they know alot... and most people are inbetween. So just search and read... search and read... and you will learn lots.

I like Ted's reply : " no "

it's basically the most intelligent answer unless you have a couple of thousand dollars to put in a pretty useless swap...

so... you just want to add a turbo to your N/A motor (by using the parts from the turbo car)?

here's a hint... look in the FAQ... or ****. I'll be nice and post the links from the FAQ section

If your gonna take parts, you'll need at least the following.

-TII Manifolds (intake and exhaust)
-TII Throttle body
-TII Intercooler with mounts
-TII Turbine/compressor
-TII Injectors
-TII Fuel Pump

The only thing that im not to sure about is the TII intercooler, if you want it Top mount, I don't know if it will fit. Personally I'd use it like aaron cake did and mount it in the front.
The biggest fabrication job out of the above parts is probably porting out the TII intake manifold so that the ports properly align up with the NA block 6 ports.
The next biggest part is installation and tuning.. The TII ECU I spose could be used, but Im not to sure if the harness from the NA will hook up properly with the TII-ECU. To get yourself into the fast lane, you'll want to just keep your original ECU and buy yourself and SAFC.

This is seriously alot of ******* work, the parts are easy to find, the most expensive part of the setup will be the SAFC, and yes you'll need about a minimum of a grand or a grand and a half for everything I'd say.Since your getting most of the parts from a friend, it'll be cheaper. If you don't know exactly how a turbo system works, not just the turbo, but the turbo system, then you need to start reading. If your 100% sure that your going to do this you can start parting out your friends car and invest in the SAFC.
Once you get yourself the SAFC and understand its complete purpose, install it in your NA car and start playing around with it. Understand exactly how to adjust it and make sure your comfortable with it before you continue.
If you don't understand how a wastegate works, or HOW its activated, then you defenitly need to read up
Once agian, get a book on turbo systems, if you don't understand the system your gonna detonate your engine and you and your friend can think about how you 'once' 'had' rx7's...

If im wrong, im sure REted will correct me
