Arrow Turbo II

I live in Toronto, and I found a black on gray '87 turbo II with 200K km, it's at a dealership. I talked them down to 3000 as is. Everytihng works ie. turbo, sunroof, lights, and p/windows. It has a little surface rust and bondo. but is in pretty good condition. I can also purchase a 6 month powertrain warrenty for 150. Needs some suspension and brake work but it is drivable.

Keep in mind this is $2,189 Aamerican and we have to deal with tax wich is included in sthis deal.

I know this might belong in the for sale or wanted catagory but I needed opinions.

p.s. there is bondo in the door panel wich has made the edges round, is this possible to make a straight edge again?

Sounds like a good deal to me. All you have to do is get a compression check on the engine and go for a test drive and push her a bit to see if she will smoke or show signs of something wrong. I would pay that extra cash for the warranty just in case.

Ya, the warrenty can be added at any time. He also mentioned that I could get parts through him at dealer prices from Mazda.

Sounds like a good deal. Be careful of the warranty. Read closely and see if it covers rotary engines. For $150 can't go wrong.

YOu will probably get raped if you buy from the dealer. I just thought it was funny. There are many places to get parts cheaper than at the dealer though. Unless he is honest about him giving you a discount I would not buy anything from him. Check prices with a couple of vendors if you ever need parts. Going to the dealer usualy involves some lube

lol...I questioned him hard on that...it will cover the rotary engine. however, the catch is the warrenty covers $900 and isn't on the clutch, but still worth it I think.

Ya, the only way i'll buy a replacement part form him is if I know I can't find a matching price. Remember since I live in Canada it isn't as easy, and cheap to get parts like some of you could.

I suggest you go to the canada section and ask about the vendors they use for parts.

im not far from you.. 45 minutes.

go down there and take it for a test drive - go partway down the road, do the ghetto rotary compression check..

remove the leading plugs and turn the engine over with the EGI fuse Removed. if you hear a steady pulse then its good, if its like a galloping horse, then stay away.

theres lots of other stuff you could check

i can tag along with you if you really wanted

Check the seals around the engine. If you see oil, that means the car has a short time left on the engine. I think i heard it was called weeping seals. anyways. my car had that when i rescued it from the crule english bastard that owend it. It's lasted with the care I gave it. I have to give it care.. its my baby.
