turbo alternator on NA?

I have an 88 vert with an alternator that is going out.

Have a rebuilt Turbo alt sitting around. Will it fit ? I hear I may need to change the connector.

Might be wrong, but I believe all S4 alternators are the same. An S5 can be used but the wiring is then different. There is a diagram of how they are configured in the FAQ section.

The two wire connector is totally different between S4 and S5.

There is no difference stock S4 TII vs NA alternator. The S5 Turbo alternator had the two wire plug going in from the top, NA comes in from the side. But in truth, you can use either in either.

Damn. It is an s5 alt brown plug with both connectors parallel compared to the non parallel connectors on the s4.

If you have the S5 pigtail, do a search about FD Alternator swap for wiring diagram to install it.
