turbo 2 vs. n/a harness
turbo 2 vs. n/a harness
can anyone tell me if the the turbo 2 drivers side engine harness is the same as the n/a one?
I installing a turbo 2 motor in a n/a car. I've got the injector harness,ecu,etc... but I'm concerned with the drivers side wire hareness.
If I don't have to, I'd rather not remove the drivers side harness, ie: the one that has the wires for the battery, ignitors, fuse panel, etc...
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!
By the way, I did check for previous posts on this but didn't find a definitive answer
thank you

If you have the 88 turbo harness that runs from the ECU to the injectors, solenoids, knock sensor etc, then that is all you should need. If you put a turbo gauge cluster in and want the boost sensor to work, then there might be a small problem.
I've never done what you are talking about....but I put a 87turbo in a 87n/a and used the same n/a harness. Just had to cut and splice maybe four wires on the original harness to connect the switching solenoid up, make the connector for the bac reach the bac etc, and ran four wires for the knock sensor, only one of which was into the engine compartment.
In other words you should not have a problem with the exception of the boost gauge. The best thing you can do for yourself is download and print the schematics and pinouts for the ECU and compare the turbo vs the non-turbo pinouts. Its available at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com
