Turbo 2 Setup??

Alright my 87 turbo 2 right now has nothing major done to it. Everything that can be removed has been, TID mod, E-Fan, fuel pump rewire, no main cat, TB mod just little things. But im gonna install a volvo fmic, super afc, FCD, maybe 720 secendarys. What kind of power im i looknig at? how much boost can i run? and also poeple say that a air/fuel gauge doesent work to tune the super afc so how do i know how to adjust it?

if you still have the 87 turbo, then i wouldnt push more than 12 or 13 psi. thats more or less the peak peak of the turbo itself. anymore and your just hurting the turbo. im not sure how much power youll be pushing at the wheels, but youll have a pretty quick little car. probably mid-high 13s or so. i personaly dont trust an A/f gauge especialy if its from autometer, theyre guages suck ***. but many people do use the A/F and see no problems. my personal chioce is an EGT gauge(exhaust gas temp). i trust that gauge more than an A/F gauge. but thats my preference. i hear really good things about some of the japanese made A/F gauges though. whichever you go with, tune carefully and happy boosting

When going with a EGT what temp are you looking to run at? Does the temp run differant from say cruseing to running the car hard?

an a/f gauge using the stock o2 sensor is a joke. an EGT is a step up, but a wideband o2 sensor is the best and easiest. its just the most expensive (go figure)

The biggest prob (IMO) with egt guages is that none has any concrete #'s tune for. So although the #'smay be accurate noone can say this # is FOR A FACT the number you should tune for at WOT. I have a egt and as of now it is totally useless. The only way I can see it being of use, is to tune my car on a Wide band O2, then compare those readings to my egt readings.

I'm not shor about the 550's or the S-AFC.I do know that you should get rid of that stock fuel pump. I'm makeing about 375 hp at 18psi. of boost and i'm running two fuel pumps at 42psi.(toltal) That's if you plan on makeing more hp then what you have now.

good luck and happy tuneing

Most common/cheapest pump in the walbro 255lph one. I got it and its a super-simple swap. Takes minutes. They can be had for like $120 or so I believe.
