trying to remove suspension-it's stuck-HELP
Help, I have remove 3 struts (they are tein adjustables) fine without a problem until i got to the last one, the right rear. Removing the nuts from the top and the bottom bolt was no problem, it is stuck on the lower mounting pin. This makes no sense because it should come of easily like the other side but wont budge. I have tried a mallet and also a pry bar. Then a pry bar with a "Torque multiplier"(massive pole over the end) but it did not budge. It even managed to put a dent it the shock which is concerning! Any ideas!!!!????

lots of silicone lubricant.
The bushing is stuck on the pin,and unless you can get that bushing to move in the rubber it will stay stuck.

first and foremost pb can catch on fire... so be careful dont get that **** in your eyes ethier.. it sucks..
heat the strut mount up then get a pry bar, pry the **** just a tad use the straw that it comes iwth and spray it into the cracks. and then spray that **** EVERYwhere on the mount let it sit for 5 mins and then try and wiggle it back and forth side to side you just wanna get the oil in and round the mounting bolt thing.
and pbblaster is like wd40 on crack

If you use heat you Fark up the rubber bushing that is on the bottom of the shock.
The Silicone lube should let rubber slide of the bushing, but the bushing will STAY on the pin.(or bolt)
That is where you can use the heat to get the Bushing off.
I am sure that is what you are facing.

I would suggest putting the nuts back on the top mounts, and then raise & lower the hub with a jack a few times trying to pull the shock off the peg at different heights. It seems like I had one that seemed seized and it was jamming against the hub or something (I just remember it was something simple, one of those "duh" moments).
Saturating the seized peg in PB blaster and letting it sit for a while before doing the above couldn't hurt either.

bro this happend to me, what i did was put a big adjustable spanner on the actual pin that screws into the hub that mounts the shock at the botom (the bit that the bolt gose into) and smashed that off, it was pritty well stuck on there just blasted it with degreaser. once it came off i simply pressed it out with a hydrolic press at work!! but i ges you could bash it out in a vice some how getto as lol

PB Blaster is the probably the ultimate in penetrating lubricant. Its similar to WD-40 but it seems to seep into tiny spaces better, and it also breaks through rust better. Any DIYer worth his beans should have a can layin around. I usually keep a can of it, and a can of wd-40.

thanks for all the suggestions and help. cheers. okay heres how it happened. lubed the ever-loving-bejeezers out of it. got an adjustable spanner on the pin in the hub and used a jack to turn the spanner(its quite tight on there as you can imagine) when it was almost off i noticed the metal bushing separated slightly from the pin. so out came the deadblow hammer and with it the shock came out. success!!! wound the pin back into the hub job done
