trouble with tail light removal

i took out the left side tail light today so i can remove the ugly plate insert inside to make the circle lights more bright and clear . but its seems to be pretty hard to get there , i cant seem to take the tail light apart . any advice , i took out all the bolts . i just dont want to crack my tail light .

I am pretty sure you put them in the oven to loosen the glue.

Yah, use the search and you will find a long thread about this and with pretty good instructions on the temperature and how long to leave it in the oven.

Yep, the oven is what will do it. Not something I would try but that's because I think the factory looks is fine.

I would put them in hot water instead of the oven its plastic so no danger in water but I can't say the same for the oven ,unless you have two sets of those lights I suggest you don't put them in the oven ,ovens are made to bake things not loosen them up .what keeps the lights together is a flexible caulking that gets somewhat hard and sticky but not undo-able .wish you the best

actually... it IS undo-able. i have done probably 8-10 sets, and i used the oven every time. the only time i EVER had a problem with the oven doing something to them is when i put them on the rack near the bottom, it barely started melting the bottom of the black part. so DONT put them on the bottom rack. go to the thread. i posted oven instructions a long time ago.

well guess what guys i burned the left tail light , this thing is harder than i thought . its not noticeable at night time but in day time it looks like its fogged up . well nothing i can do but see if i get lucky on getting a new left tail light
