trouble replacing fuel strainer

after i removed the cover to access the fuel pump i came upon another cover containing several small screws holding the pump housing to the tank. i got all these screws off but one which is severly stripped. most of them were slightly rusted and now i can't remove this last one. any suggestions?

thanks

get something like this, sears sells them.

you hit it with a hammer and it drives into the screw and turns at the same time. it works great on stripped screws.

soak it in pb blaster. you might need to drill it out unfortunately. some come out easy, some are a total PITA.

If you do drill it out pick up a set of left hand drill bits.

Just drill the head off that last screw, then lift the pump out. Then take a pair of pliers and grab the shank of that screw and it'll just spin out.
