Angry tried to change rotors and pads on T2

i tried to change the rotors and pads on my T2. apparently after about 4 hrs we got one lock screw off the rotor. second lock screw wouldn't budge at all so we ground it off. i have new rotors sitting here anyway. well we hit it with a hammer then a sledge hammer. nothing not a budge. we take off the whole hub and find that is the original rotor from 1989! part of the rotor has actually rusted away. the rotor is fused to the HUB!!!!! anyway i'm gonna buy two used hubs to replace this but are ABS hubs and NON-ABS hubs the same. also thanks to turbovr6 for helping me. i knew i wasn't insane and or retarded about why the damn rotor wouldn't come off....

A friend of mine was doing this to his n/a, and it took him 6 hours of continuous beating with a 2 pound sledge to get the one rotor off.

Move one screw hole over and tighten a bolt in it. Probably still wouldn't have worked on that rusty *** thing though.

my front and rear rotors are stock too!! the rear ones have never even been off, still has the paint mark across it. the front one's been off for the wheel bearings.

100,000 miles but brembos and hawk pads going on in a few weeks

those rotor screws never come out. just drill them out, takes a few mins.

and abs and non abs hubs are different.

I'm glad I live down south. No rust to deal with Mine still had the paint marks on the rotor screws, with 149k on the car. I used a hammer screwdriver to break the screws loose and used one of the screws to thread it right off the hub.

i just looked only list on part number for the hub for 5 lug. i guess you just bolt on the ABS ring. i'm gonna be ripping out my ABS anyway so its not a big deal getting the screw off wasn't a big deal. the rotor wouldn't budge off the hub. oh well replacements will be here wednesday those and new suspension going on thursday !!!

Yes the 5 bolt hubs are the same and as you say the ABS ring is attached with hex head screws.I use anti seize (copper kote or equivalent)under the rotor.
