Tri-point Wide Body Replica ~ Who Makes It?

I remember there was a Co. making a knock-off of this but cant find it anymore. I thought it was Raceonusa, but apparently not.

Any help?

Ronin Speedworks - they have the original molds now.

That's one option, but the price tag is a bit much.

Someone else had them available for considerably less. And it wasn't marketed by name as "tri-point"ish, but as a number.

$1500 isn't that much.

I paid ~$1200 for a genuine bomex kit years ago and its only 4pcs.

Dave RX heaven was replicating this kit but IIRC they weren't much cheaper.

Its a full widebody kit, buying the kit is the cheapest part of the whole venture.

The company that I'm thinking of was selling the set of 4 panels (fenders & quarters) for under $800 + shipping.

Dave started with the Tri-point kit but ended up making his own custom molds for even wider fenders. IIRC he was charging $2k-2500.

Not when you do all the body and paint yourself.
Except for wheels/tires.....that's the big ticket items.

I did all my own bodywork & paint & still wasn't cheap & definitely time consuming. You are right on the wheels & tires they will tend to get expensive for the sizes need to pull off the look. $1500 sounds cheap compared to what I paid for mine, but RaceonUSA did offer a kit similar to the Tri Point for around $800. I'm not too sure how well it fit.

RaceonUSA stuff does not fit worth a damn. Their shop used to be next to my work and they have since moved out. They don't make anything, they only stock items they receive from overseas manufacturers.

^ Yeah cheaper kits generally have more issues mounting then the the rest, not saying that the expensive kits will slip right on either.

I agree with you guys. I molded in cheap ebay "GPSport" side skirts and rear bumper on my convertible. It took a lot of man hours to get them to look smooth. I spent a fair amount of money on a FRP nose from Shine and the quality/fitment was lightyears ahead of the other parts, but still needed some massaging to fit 100%.

Quite honestly, money is kinda tight in my household right now. I'd rather spend $600-700 less for lower quality pieces and some more of my own time on fit and finish. Then again, this isn't for show and I'm not overly concerned with perfect fitment.
At least I'm not crazy in thinking Raceonusa offered this kit.

I hear you on the money being tight & you seem to be aware that you may have to put a little work in to get it right.

Yep, I've never been afraid of a little work. My hands are dirty most every day anyway.
Dirt, greese, sawdust, snow, fiberglass, bondo.......some peoples daily occupation is gauged by the "hat" they wear, mine is gauged by the gloves I use!
