Transmission Tailshaft Bushing

Sorry about the novice question, but I want to check if that’s the name of this part I’m looking at.

Learning as I go and I was in the process of changing out the rear seal on the 88 T2 transmission since it looked like there were signs of leakage. The seal looked pretty decent and then I noticed a piece that looks chipped. I’ll keep looking but I haven’t found any replacement instructions in the manuals yet.

TIA!

Atkins and Mazdatrix sells new tails haft bushings. Here's a link: https://www.atkinsrotary.com/79-92-N...98-22-333.html

You need to remove the transmission and then the tail shaft housing. The bushing is pressed in. You can probably replace/install the bushing with an appropriate sized socket and a hammer. Make sure the oil hole in the bushing is aligned with that in housing.
