Transmission Questions

Can i put a turbo II tranny on my n/a? BEcause i dont want to put a weak gtu,gxl,or conv on mine since i already wrecked the syns on the original one. and with the rear end? should i attempt to find another GTUs rear end?

You basically have to change eveything that interacts with the transmission, that being the flywheel, clutch, starter, slave, driveshaft, etc. If you want the TII rear end it's the same sort of deal, as you need to change the halfshafts too.

Is there anyway i could rebuild my orginal tranny and rear end? because i DONT wanna buy another clutch kit($1,300).

250rwhp... yea ya may need to get tii tranny and rear end...

my na puts 146 and i think thats flywheel... not sure the tranny and rear can handle and extra 100+ HP at the wheels

Yea thats what im worried about,i just LOVE the ratios of the GTUs,are they different form the tII?

You spent 1300 on a clutch kit!!! WOW!!

If you go to a TII Trans you will need.

TII Flywheel
TII Clutch
TII Clutch Slave Cylinder

And either of the following lists

TII Trans to N/A Diff Driveshaft (Custom made or mazdatrix)

or

TII Driveshaft
TII Rear End
TII Axles


You could alternately buy another N/A Trans and don't beat the living snot out of it and it should last for some time. Aaroncake puts mad power through his without problems.

Yea,racing setups arn't cheap. I dont really beat it. i just race it once a week. I occationaly drift,random burnouts...
