transmission mount is pissing me off.
Well, I went to the track 3 weeks ago. I got some good wheel hop and after that, I noticed a pretty good vibration after that. especially during startup and idle...low rpms...so my tranny mount went belly up.
I purchased a new mount from mazdatrix as well as the two new rubber mounts that mount to the tranny. According to mazdatrix...those rubber mounts sag over time which causes the middle circle to hold the weight of the tranny, which its not suppose to do.
Well, I replaced both of those parts and it was smooth as can be, felt like a new car. But a week later its starting to vibrate again, it was fine for a while but now it ruined the middle part of the mount. Its like its not holding the weight or something.... \
Any ideas??? It seems like the tranny is sitting a little more to the right than the left. Could a sagging motor mount cause the tranny mount to go bad??
Im at a lost? If anyone has ever looked at the mount, the middle of the mount has just some rubber padding thats suppose to keep the tranny center, thats the part that breaking and then causing the vibration.. something is putting the weight on that piece.
I dunno, im just pissed, it was perfect for a while, the car felt a lot better.....

i got a tranny mounts story for ya!!!!
i was changing transmissions on my 89 base because my old one would grind going into fifth. i bought a used 1987 tranny for 100 bucks off a friend, not realizing the mounts were different. so i had the 87 tranny all in and i was installing the mount.....oh **** it wont fit....so i had to cut those rubber thingies in half and use 12 big washers and bolt that 17mm bolt down nice and tight...works fine!

What did you old transmission mount look like? I'v e got vibration at 2100 rpm on up, in gear or out. Was told to check transmission mount and it look fine though I didn't remove it. No cracked metal and rubber supports looked just a bit weathered is all.
Could I have missed something?
