i recently swapped out my transmission in my 86 n/a rx7 for a "lower" mileage unit .it worked perfectly in the car it was in had no problems shifted fine we even put in a new pilot bearing and throw out bearing . as we were installing it we noticed that the clip that holds the shifter was completely broken took all the small broken pieces out .then i decided to shift through the gears while the car was off and noticed it would not go into 5th or reverse. if anyone could offer an idea into why its doing this i would greatly appreciate it thanks.
