Trans Mount Y Bracket Question

So I did an auto to manual swap and went to switch over the trans brackets. The Y bracket from my 90 auto is too narrow to fit onto the new trans which due to the wider bottom I assume is from an 86-88? Mazdatrix only lists a Y bracket for 89-92...

Can anyone shed some light on this? I would prefer the bracket for the trans that is in there instead of trying to weld something up to make the one from the old trans work.

the y brackets are different between series. the s5 is definitely not as wide as the s4.

Does the Y-Bracket bolt vertically up into the trans? If so, then you've got an S4 trans.

The S5 Y-Bracket is the same as the auto one and bolts on diagonally.

If you can't source an S5 trans. you might try to just find an S5 tail housing, it swaps on allowing you to use the Y-bracket. [This is what I did]
