Trans Blew, clutch question
Ok my front U joint on my N/A drive shaft blew up on my way home (THANK GOD FOR TRIPLE A AND POPs GETTIN IT FOR ME EVEN THOUGH I PAID FOR IT). I've been gathering parts for my 6port turbo conversion. Just so happens I just got my TII Drive shaft today. I got the trans, flywheel and drive shaft. My money just got super tight can I use my old N/A clutch how much of a difference is there between the N/A and TII clutches . Please dont flame me just a question I forgot my phone at Seven stock and I would have had everything but the 2 parts I'm getting now besides the clutch. Those are, my TII or auto starter and Slave cylinder. Ohh I replace the gear oil about 6 months ago and when it was bleeding out of the car it smelt burnt how bad is that I will be checking it all on my install Friday...

Sequentially broken
The starter won't even properly mate with the NA flywheel, so that'll be an issue. If I recall the splines are the same so it'd probably bolt on you'd just never get it started without pushing it. You're also going to need a TII rear & halfshafts if you plan on using a TII diff, unless you have one modified to work with an N/A rear.

The clutch/flywheel won't mate up with the starter so you won't be able to get it started. It won't matter what starter to use, it's the position that the TII trans put's it in. You would need a TII flywheel/clutch.

NA clutch will absolutely NOT work with a TII tranny for a number of reasons. The clutch has nothing to do with the drive axle in regards to any fitment reference.
But I can help. I've got:
Brand new OEM clutch disc and pressure plate - $125 picked up.
Brand new TII starter - $75
Clutch Slave - NA and TII Clutch slaves are different design. You'll need a TII one for the TII tranny. Get it from Autozone or Kragen for a number of reasons besides being inexpensive. You should get a new pilot bearing and seal as well as a new throw out bearing while your there.
Come to think of it, I've got a new throw out bearing I'll just give you with the rest of the above if/when you come by.
How did you like your first 7Stock?

Too bad I didn't know sooner as I had to drive down to San Diego a couple days ago, driving through Lake Elsinore on the 15. So could have dropped stuff off.
Buy me lunch and I'll make the drive to help a brother out and bring them to you. :-)

It happened Wendsday night at 8:55 pm The trans and started viberating than on my exit I got off Down shifted thans BANG !!! My Front U joint gave loose, gear oil all over the place. The Shift linkage moves all over the place now so it's time the Trans comes out and the new one in!!!

I got the transmission out The shifter housing broke. When the U joint let loose it caused some mayhem. The 2 rail like bars that holds the shifter housing broken 2 parts. Meening that the rod in the middle slides in and out. I could I guess take the one off the T2 Trans but I need it for the power and my U joint is gone so I stuck either way. I just need a clutch as soon as my friend shows up I can find out whats goin on. Damn I wish my other car was running!!!

Yes and no The T2 drive shaft I got is straght T2 so I have to take my N/A drive shaft and use the T2 front spline part from the one that you gave me with the tranny and get the U-Joint pressed in and she will be done I hope!!!
Thank you Mr. Hozzman for the help, me and Odise was up till 12:00 last night working on her. We got it together till I realized about the drive shaft was to short. So I have a little bit of money to get the shaft fixed and and I'll do my oil change and check the rear brakes in the morning, I hope she will be done...

Are you sure the NA driveshaft is the correct length with the TII front spline? Might want to give Mazdatrix a call to discuss your intentions before you spend any money.
If the DS you got lines up properly to bolts up to your NA 3rd member, and before bolting to the 3rd the front spline will slide into the tranny otherwise, sounds like you have a Automatic Driveshaft. Front spline on an automatic and TII are the same size and spline count.
I had heard that an automatic DS would do the job of mateing a TII tranny with a NA 3rd member from conversation with Mazdatrix a while back. But I've later heard from others that it's too short for long term use. I had thought the front spline would still mesh sufficiently with the TII tranny to get you around for a short term fix. Guess you've answered that final question.
Save that TII driveaxle as you'll need it when you ultimately drop in a TII 3rd member.
