i need a new tranny so what should i put in my 87 n/a,does the gtu have the best one

All N/a trannies are the same I think. The GTUs not GTU has a 5th gear from the convertible IIRC which is to offset the rear gearing. But I am pretty sure they are all the same strength and all that.
