I recently bought a 86 gxl with a bad motor and im swapping the combo with the engine and tranny out of my last rx-7. It was a 87 base. The reason i had to buy the new car was because i got into a accident with the old one. A guy ran a red light and hit me. It didnt do much to the motor. It ruinned the radiator, oil cooler, fan and water pump. When i took it out i noticed that the bracket that starts at the tranny and runs to the shifter was broken. It has like 3-4 bolts on each side i think. I was wondering if anyone knew the specific name for that plate?

A little more specific? Are you talking about the shifter fork? If so you can take off the rear housing of the tranny and swap it out for another one.
