A real engine or transmission mount isolates vibration with a rubber (or urethane) block that can move in tension, compression and shear. The bolt does not pass right through the rubber. Stiffer versions, if that's what you want, are available from Mazdaspeed.

The Banzai Racing transmission and engine mounts are urethane blocks with a bolt through them. In compression, the bolt will go loose. In tension the bolt will eliminate all compliance. In shear the bolt has to tilt in the mounting holes. In short, the Banzai Racing mounts are crap.

I'm a fan of solid engine and tranny mounts, though some people will tell you it causes vibration. I really only get noticeable vibration from then above 60 mph.

I guess you have not seen our design. It is impossible for the bolt to loosen up under compression due to the internal locking feature of the top cap. Compliance/flex is what is eliminated, which happens to be the goal. "In short" the stock mounts are crap, our mounts reduce the amount of energy lost to drivetrain movement, but if you like your stock mounts we are not forcing you to install ours. We simply designed a much more durable part, which increases performace to replace a well known weak, failure prone factory component. So as long as you like replacing the factory mounts every 5-10K miles (or every week if you are over 400rwhp) then just keep buying the mounts from Mazda, they will love you for it
