tranny drain plug

So i decided to change the tranny oil today, due to shifting getting a little notchy, and was hoping that some RP might help it a little. But i noticed a considerable amount of crap built up on the magnet, probably close to a half inch thick metal sludgecake on it when i pulled it out. Just wondering if this was normal at all. I really have know idea when it was last changed, if at all. The person that owned it before me said he always too "real good care of her" and changed fluids when needed, but from the looks of it he ignored the tranny. let me know.

p.s. The RP Max Gear is pretty good stuff. Helped out alot, even in the cold. And i used aaron cakes method with the air compressor instead of a long *** tube up through the engine bay and it works great. Props for that.
