your better off going to a pick/pull joint and getting a good low milage transmission. I picked my tranny up for 50$ was sort of "afraid" to find out weather or not it was good. Got it installed no noise, tight shift ******* works great. And to think i was gunna spend $300+ to get her rebuilt.

Its cheaper and easier to replace one than to rebuilt it or pay to have it rebuilt unless you can get an inside deal at a local tranny shop.

Used Tranny.

Well, not to scare you from buying a used tranny or anything but when I picked up a tranny for my TII it ended up making more noise and rattling more than my old tranny, works great though. Just a heads up.

If you have good luck with used trannies, more power to you. But with the youngest FCs being almost 13 years old, there's no such thing as a low mileage used tranny. I wouldn't want to have to replace trannies every 10K miles.

Don't be cheap. Go ahead and have it rebuilt. You can have it done for a reasonable price. There's a place about an hour from me in Winter Haven, that will rebuild a tranny for around $300, and it's mainly an RX-7 specific shop.
