Lexan Rear Hatch

Seems like there are a few people that ask about these once in a while.

Surprisingly, Mariah Motorsports sells one for $380. Just go to their exterior parts for 86-91 RX-7 and look under wide body package, racing, gto II.

Lexan is a strong plastic! It is just as strong as class but weighs about 1/4 the weight! saving you about 25/30 lbs!

I'd rather have one that weighs just as much but is bulletproof

Lexan tends to turn yellow (depending on who makes the lexan). Just thought I would let you know that before you go out and buy a hatch.

I've seen them for other cars sold with a warranty against discoloring/staining and such.

Make sure to get that warrenty. Unless it's strictly a race car that you really don't care about the looks and all performance

and it scratches very very easily. Just look at most high quality R/C car bodies.
