traction

Having a major traction problem on my 89 n/a. I launch at 4000 or 4500 so the engine does not bog because my ports are open. What does everyone think about tire sizes? What is the biggest that will fit on the stock rims? How about after market rims with drag radials? what is the bolt pattern for the 2nd gen?

Fixing the aux port system would be a better idea; cheaper too.
