MO TPS wiring help!!!! 1986 RX7 NA

The wires going to my TPS on my engine harness broke at the female spades inside the connector. So I replaced them and extended with fresh wire, except I think I might have crossed some of the wires...

Can anybody give me a picture of your TPS engine harness connector wiring so I can see if I've crossed anything? I'm pretty sure I have because my engine wont rev smooth and won't rev above 3500 RPM.

The wire colors should match between the TPS pigtail and the wires from the engine harness. If you have a TPS which has a Brown wire for the ground and a Brown wire for the Vref then perhaps these two are switched. The Vref wire should be Brown/White.

Yes I have 2 brown wires, I seitched them and it fixed my problem. And yeah I've started a lot of new threads for all of these issues because I'm very new to these cars. I have no help from anybody local and I'm trying to figure stuff out on my own based off of the info on this site by using the advanced search... There is a TON of **** info on this forum you have to sift through. Trust me I know noobs posting questions on covered topics is annoying. But it's even more annoying when there is so much wrong BS info you have to look through. In a perfect world all noobs would be able to use a search button and find ALL the info they need. But then you post ****** would no longer get your post counts by bitching and complainjng about noobs...

Lol damn right. I have useful info to provide when the correct question are asked and haven't already been covered. Otherwise searching and reading works. Just giving up after your first search is lazy. These cars are 25+ years old. There is NOTHING that you could be dealing with that hasn't already been covered. Or at least close enough to get you started.

NOTE!:
You gotta Think about this one!.
The TPS connector is shaped like a Triangle..right?.one on top and the 2 below.
When you wire the TPS Harness wires TO the TPS..watch the 2 wires that are Beside each other!
They Can GET mixed up,So you gotta Be Careful not to mix them up!..If you look at the connectors and the wires on each, and then Connect them together, the Wires WILL reverse when Connected.

Look at the connectors.BOTH OF THEM.
Look at the color wires..NOW slowly put the TPS connector ON the harness.
NOTICE how the wires will not correspond..they "magically" switch position??

try thinking of it this way:
..TOP...
LEFT/RIGHT.

..TOP...
LEFT/RIGHT.

now FOLD one of those 'statements" onto the other.
now it is left, right connected and left/right connected..NOT 2 lefts and 2 rights connected.BUT the TOP remains the same.
SEE what I mean???..(hopefully!)

The result of NOT paying attention to this is that the TPS is now reading backwards and gets 0% at full throttle and 100% at ZERO throttle.

Thank you very much for the response and detailed description, I was able to figure it out. The first thing I did was look at the color of the wires on the TPS itself. But the only wire that was the same color was the green wire on the top. The bottom two wires were both black, so I'm guessing this has an aftermarket TPS on it. Because the connector on my harness was top green, and both bottom brown. And I did have the two bottom crossed, just switched them and all is well now. Thank you once again.

Like I said before I know new people bringing up already covered topics can get old. I'm by no means new to forums I've been one of the top posters in other Honda forums. But I've also tried my best to help new people who ask questions in an articulate and well thought out way. A question or issue with details, pictures, video.

Now if it's somebody who ask, "My car wont start what do I do?" then yeah... Flame on.
