TPS setting via ECU cable ?

Hi, will the Throthle position cable at the ECU give me a accurate reading of the TPS so i can see if i have to adjust it ?

also .. where on the tps is the screw to adjust it on a S5 ?

Yes, you can check the voltage at the voltage at the ECU, but the preferred method is to check at the TPS connection. I use the factory checker after setting to 1K ohm intially. There are differences of opinion on this subject which you will find if searching. Like I said, I've always had success to do the final check with the Mazda checker. The lock nut and screw is directly in front of the narrow rande TPS plunger(front plunger) on the opposit side of the cam that contacts the TPS plunger.

Others, like me, think the preferred method is reading the output of the tps AT the ECU and comparing it to the input voltage described in the fsm i.e approx one volt with the car fully warmed up and at idle. See CONTROL UNIT in the fsm.

what screw is the adjust screw ? i did not find any scew that looked as it could adjust the tps ... !

Sorry, I'm a series four person. The series five tps is different. I've never seen one close up.

search... I highlighted and **** out of the tps adjustment in a picture in a thread on this forum last night... like 12 hours ago

, what with the red scratch marks etc. Gee, it looks very much like the series four adjustment screws, also much like the pic in the 91fsm I have. How sure are you that that is the screw????

bah .. forgot to write TURBO ... s5 turbo ..

my car dont have that screw that you so nicley pointed out in your artwork.

Looking at the 91FSM, Section F2, page F2-81, second graphic fromt the bottom........shows the series five adjustment screw on a turbo.....looks just like the one in the red scratchy, well done jpg in the posts above. Maybe your's fell out?? With the spring? Not good.
