TPS question, if you have info on this contraption, hook me up
I messed with my screw for the hell of it because my car idles like ****, well actually it wont idle, it jumps around everywhere and I dont know why, it just wont hold a constant idle anywhere-it usually dies. I unplugged my TPS and it actually didnt die, I thought that was weird. I have an 88 GXl N/A, I my question actually is can anyone tell me a good position to put the screw back to? Like how many screws out or in it should be? I would just like to get it back to where it should be. Thanks a million

Try this url and the response by Keith who is really Irv https://www.rx7club.com/vforums/show...&threadid=7647 if your tps isn't broken you can use this method. Been doing it for years and is without a doubt the most reliable method. Signed: Closed minded Hailers The other methods are good for determining if you have an open pot and testing your endurance with flahing lites and such. Only good for 86 thru 88 cars though. Must have a fully warmed up engine to set the tps using any method.

HAILERS knows whats up On a side note, make sure the digital meter you use will read those kinds of numbers... mine wouldnt read low enough for the voltage test, and not high enough for the resistance test. Might want to get a friend who's an electrical kinda guy and borrow his meter, thats what i did.

UNIQUE....yes thats right. Last Sunday I bought a cheap 18 buck one(Radio Shack) that I can leave in the car at all times and not take a beating if somebody steals it. About 20bucks with battery and state tax. Only bad part is the leads are short and I'm going to make some longer ones. Followed a tip by RXSTER and made a breakout box or actually a breakout plug for the ECU so I can amuse myself monitoring the 02 sensor, tps, secondary injectors, water temp, air temp sensor, relief solenoid , boost sensor etc. Don't need a FLUKE METER for this.
