Royal Purple 2 cycle oil Question

What makes Royal Purple "2-Cycle" Racing Oil better than Royal Purple "2-Cycle" Normal Oil or why not just use the "race" version all the time(I assume that are both clean burning)? I'm go to use it in my rotary that I sometimes race, but usually drive it on the street.

thanks

They have different additives in their racing formula than they have in their regular formula. I use the regular products like their 10W30 RP synthitic oil in my vert that is a street car and the RP racing 21 in my race car. Either should work fine for you.

He is talking about 2-stroke for the gas (I hope) and I was refferencing their other "race" "regular" types of oils.

Sorry I was talking about the 2 cycle premix. I recieved an email from one of their distributers and they told me that the only difference is the concentration levels...hmmm. I have also emailed royal purple directly and am waiting for a reply.

ok, just making sure you weren't trying to put 2 stroke into the engine.

I didn't get a reply back from Royal purple, but I had Amsoil compare their "race" with the regu;ar version. It is a little misleading because on the Amsoil website it showed a comparison with their "race" version and others. It showed that it didn't leave no deposits behind amongst the others. But below him mentioning plug fouling contridicts the clean burning charicteristics that are stated on the website???

Joe,

It's not that one is better than the other, they are just formulated for different purposes. If you race and run full throttle constantly, the racing oil gives you superior protection under extreme heat and pressure conditions. If you are not going to race and are just running at "normal" speeds the racing oil may tend to "build-up" and cause plug fouling. If you are doing a little of both I would suggest going with our AIO 50:1 injector oil.

Sincerely,
Ed K.
