Unhappy TPS question

I was adjusting my TPS today (my car had a pretty rough idle so i finally decided to do something about it) I cranked it about 1/4 of a turn counter-clockwise, that only made the idle worse so i turned it about 3/4 clockwise, that made it better and it was almost perfect. Me being a perfectionist of course I go "maybe another 1/4 turn..." long story short after a 1/4 turn the stud cracked off in my wrench, the car still idles just REALLY bad now. My question is, is there anything I can do short of buying a new one?

well first of all that's not how you adjust it....

2nd I don't know what you broke. but if it's connected to the tps. then I guess you'll have to replace it. if it's connected to the TB, you'll have to fix that instead.

People hysterically turning things..

Geesh.

I await the picture of your throttle plate rod bolt lying next to your intake.

How could you have missed all the information posted about TPS adjustment.

Just about everything else you could have broken in that area is $$$$$$$$

Tell us what you will do differently next time so I dont wonder what will become of this FC.

HAILERS will take care of you. You should have however, been using the 2 LED Lite application or been using the Voltmeter Instead of randomly turning the screw to the TPS. If you were using any of the above applications, forgive me. You did not state that however...

What the hell were you adjusting with a wrench? That certainly wasn't the TPS, it's a slotted screw. It wasn't the idle speed, that's a slotted screw. In fact, almost everything you adjust in that region of your car uses a slotted screw. Of course, if you just torqued the head off the nut, buy another nut, thread it in there, figure out what the smeg you were playing with, find the proper procedure, and follow it.

Mine has a round slotted top. Perhaps there are some with hex screws.
