Question TPS problems

my car has been having some hesitation problems under part throttle for a while so yesterday i tested my tps and at idle it was at 2.9ohm at idle and like 6.1 at wot on plugs a and b, and on plugs a and c it was 4.2 at idle and about 3.3 wot. i have the specs saying that at idle while testing plugs a and b it should be.9-1.0 but the lowest it would let me adjust was 1.9. am i doing something wrong or is my tps shot? i tried it with 2 different tps that i have and got the same results.

As a guess you didn't heat the engine up before you did the test. The car needs to be at operating temp for that test to be accurate.

I don't have an answer for you then. If the engine is warm and it is trying ti idle around 700-850 then you should be able to get the TPS within spec, and yours is way off. Just because you said you tries 2 and they were both the same, are you sure your multimeter is good?? Make sure the leads are making good connections at both ends.

Try this.

Set the TPS voltage to 1 volt without the throttle depressed, engine fully warmed up, key in the on position but engine not running. Now what is the voltage at WOT? On a brand new sensor it should be close to 4.9 V . If it's under 4 I would definately replace it, anything between that is a judgment call. And that assumes it has a good sweep of resistance.
