tps light or ohmeter

tps light or ohmeter

is it worth it to go out and buy an ohmmeter or am i better off just using the 2 led test light set up? ive just heard rumors about the lights frying ecu's and whatnot. so which is best, light or ohmeter?

I like the multimeter. You can get one at radioshack for 20 bucks.

Another good one is the Sears one...
They went one sale for $10 a few months ago!
I just had to pick up a spare after dropping $100 on a top-of-the-line Radio Shack one. :P

I bought my digital meter at Advance Auto. Typically I will set the TPS using the twin lights and then verify the setting by hooking up the OHM meter. On my car (91 N/A) the resistance usually reads between 1050 and 1100 when only one test light is lit.

You can get a very nice one for about 50 bucks at frye's. Its every bit as good as the flukes, except its not autoranging.
