TPS adjust didnt do much ;(
Im a busy man, and dont have time to rig up light devices and dont have a digital ohm meter, so i got the mazda part for adjusting TPS. I hooked it up to the green connector coming off the pressure sensor, and adjusted it VERY lightly to make sure that im not pressing down causing the throttle to open or close any.
Problem: It still likes to idle around 1500. I 'set' it at WOT to see what it'd do, and it almost died on me when it chose to get off its 1500 idle, but didnt die. Wont die on AC turn on, hasnt ever stalled on me, i just reset the TPS so that the green light was on (it has a red + green) and it still likes to sit up at 1500...
ah..is my TPS fucked?

what mods have you done?? some intake mods make it like to idle high, did you check the full range one light on at closed throttle and one at WOT. also have you tried to change the idle with the idle set screw or variable resistor screw?? how did this high idle come about again??

ehhh...you lost me
all i got is a K&N filter, stock manifold, stock pre-cats, and straight pipe from there back.
I set it at closed throttle (car was in ON position..which i thought it had to be). I got one light, then i pushed down the arm to WOT and both lights went off, tried adjusting it clockwise, and ended up turning the screw as much as i could and no light came on.
I thought you adjusted the TPS by the idle set screw (as it says in the FSM). Where is the variable resister screw..?

The throttle plates are being held open too far most likely. Could be the throttle stop screw holding the plates open, could be a tight throttle cable, could be sludge bulidup behind the throttle plates. Possible someone screwed up the fast idle screw adjustment real, real bad. Could be the thermowax not extending. Who knows.
ok the variable resistor is at the passenger shock tower infront of the boost sensor it should have some silicone in it if it hasn't been messed with b4 don't worry if it hasn't. yes, in order to set the tps you have to have the ignition turned to the on position, you get one light when the throtle plates are closed like you did and one at WOT i'd adjust it until you get both lights. as for the funky idle it's at 1500 huh and have you tried to adjust the idle set screw on top of the dynamic chamber if not try that is it bouncing?? or steady?? if it's just high use the idle adjust screw on top of the dynamic chamber.
what do you do if it is bouncing?? and where is the dynamic chamber? and let's say I didn't know that it was the fast idle screw I was adjusting until later...how do I put it back where it belongs??

it's not a fast idle screw just an idle "adjustment" screw you realy shouldn't mess with it unless you have to. turbotwista your problem sounds like the tps is also misadjusted. what you can do once you adjust it properley if you already haven't is unplug the tps dive around the block (this will suck) once you get back plug the tps back in and the bouncing should be gone.
