Several people told me, on the forum, that numbers were in the range of 1000 to 2000. I would love to hear some concrete numbers from Mazda. I am in process if doing lots of research my self. All should feel free to post the number they heard and it source.
New friends? Tell me about it...

And official MAzda production numbers for the GTUs is 100 even. The 10th AE is 1500.

I even gave you the source for my numbers, read this post from the beginning. I even linked it.

Yeah, when is the last time you saw that 10th AE? Bet I can guess where it is now.... In my garage....

If there are so damn many FCs in this town, why doesnt anyone hang out? This is getting frustrating. I did see a Pearl painted vert a few days ago at the Catalina Auto Recyclers. Couldnt figure out whos it was though. I am sick of getting clowned by my friends who are all V8s, about my rotary habit.

No, wasnt me getting ate up by an S5, I have only raced one 7 and that was PJs (PJ 4.2L) and he moved to Ventura. And I didnt loose. My car was fairly modded until about a month ago, when I took everything off to get it ready for sale.

So if there are so many FCs around this crummy town, where are they hanging out? I know some people that HAVE FCs, but they just drive them, they arent a hobby for them, just transportation.

On the website you linked, it said 100 even for 1990 not 1989, my Year

"In 1989 there were a number of GTUs' produced, however should you ever come across a 1990 GTUs, you have found something incredibly rare. Mazda produced exactly 100 1990 GTUs' before discontinuing the mark. To this day Mazda officially denies on paper that there were ever any GTUs' made after 1989."

You got me. That will teach me to read a little more carefully.

Hmm... I tried to research the total numbers on the internet, but nothing came up.

This is starting to bug me....Wonder if Rarest knows.

I think this is why there is so much confusion. Someone reads a web page, not so carefully and quotes it and 5 people read it and they quote it 5 times and so on. No offence to you J-Rat. That’s why i asked for all sources. I would like to try to decipher all this. Is anyone else as curios as me?

Shoot, its all good. I made an error, it happens. I asked RarestRX (the resident GTUs freak) if he had the production numbers, cause I am curious now.

THis is what RarestRX says:

1989 GTUs production ranges from 800-1000...it seems like nobody really knows. The Mazdaspeed rep told my buddy it was 800.

1990 GTUs production has actually be documented at 100 units.

Even given the high estimate on the 1989 production, it is still the rarest production model RX-7 sold in the United States.

1989 GTUs "Yeah."
