Torsen Differential

Heres th issue, I recently bought a Torsen type limited slip diff off a friend with a TII, He bought the diff and never had it installed. He says it will fit in a N/A or a TII rear member, I know for a fact that the output shafts on the TII are larger in diameter and will not fit. So here my question is there any way of telling wheather the Torsen differential will fit properly in my S4 TII rear member, either my measuring output axle diameter, or measuring the ring gear mounting diameter to tell wheather or not this differential will fit in my car?

Thanks

Keith

hmm, i posted the miata mod on here, no one replied....

You take a miata torsen diff, and stick it into an S5 housing, (i think s4 works too) and use S4 NA axles.

I have heard of that mod being done, what I was inquiring about was if the differential I just bought was made for a turbo car or a non turbo car. I took a few pictures and its not looking promising

Would the ring gear stick out over the edge of the diff to make it 8 inches or is this torsen diff for a Non Turbo.

?

Yeap, of course man gotta keep her ready all the time. I was actually just out your way today went and picked up the S4 ported turbo off Sean (West) off the bcrotary forums while my dad was out there buying a new motorbike.

So whats the call on it you guys is this a useless expensive paper weight for me as a TII owner?

sell it to someone with an N/A or 1st gen, or non torsen miata, there are a few other non mazdas that they fit.

I can make you a very good deal on a perfect condition torsen FD diff. It was from a car with an automatic. So it was obviously lightly used.

An RX7 with an automatic has the same 7" diff IIRC.

koopz, Looks like a 7" to me. Good luck with your search.
