well, after finally getting my vert back to a running condition i decided to wash it today. after i got done i decided to work on the inside some(wiper switch repair)

so i put the top down and everything was fine. so got done working and went to put the top back up. top went up to the safety stop point to open the latches. so i opened them and hit the button to finish closing it, and there was nothing. no beaps or anything.

so i hit the down button and it went back down. but then wouldnt go up at all. no beeps or anything.

checked the fuse it was fine. took the switch apart and cleaned it. still nothing. so i finally got the top back up manually.

so i messed with the switch some more, when you hit the down button the motors turn and all, but the top doesnt move and when you hit the up there is no motor noise or beeping.


so what all do i need to check to figure out the problem? really need to figure this out as i might be selling the car and most people wont buy a convertible that doesnt work.

 

all you need is a multimeter and a partner.

check the test connector on the passenger's shock tower

then the connectors on the motors themselves..

use the step by step is in the FSM

 

When this happened on my vert it was the position limiting switch. The one on the passenger side went bad.
