Top Speed? (Turbo II)

Sup.
I was just curious if the reported 142mph top speed of our cars was drag or speed limited. And if it is speed limited, would my mods make my car faster? This may be a stupid question, but I would like to know.

HP limited. Just runs out of power.
Check around on this forum, in people's signatures for mods ideas. Intake, free flowing exhaust, more boost with fuel makes more power, in the most basic sense.

I have these mods, and I just wanted to know with my mods, what kind of top speed I can maybe expect.

alright, with 320 fwhp (my estimate), you should be around 166 for a top speed.

The 89-91 does 151 off the showroom. I've done 156 before I did the turbo upgrade and had more but was coming up on traffic so I have no doubt that it'll do 160.

My 87 hit 130 with ease and some good room left to grow with exhaust/intake. I didn't feel safe going any faster on my non speed rated tires.

gears

Don't the sevens gear out at like 162-165 MPH. I read that somewhere and now i'm looking for it. If that's the case then we could have gobs of power but then run out of gear. I got mine up to 146 MPH ( on the speedo) ON I-20 just east of Ranger Hill. Traffic in the distance kept me from pushing it, any further, but i had about 1,200 RPM's or so. Maybe i could have gotten 150 out of it. things can get scary at that speed.

My top speed 89 turbo

I have hit 165 with half a grand left. I stopped cause my car was wanting to fly, and I am not a pilot.

Stock runs out of power.
A full exhaust is enough for a Zenki FC to bury the redline in 5th at around 160-170mph.&nbsp The Kouki FC has a taller 5th gear, so it'll do 180-180mph in redline in 5th gear.

I had my 87 w/ crimp bent exhaust only at an indicated 162 before I let off.

Does anyone have the specs of the Jspec 13b's? The T2 i just bought has a JSpec engine in it and I want to know the engine specs. I was also told that they have about 20% more power stock than the us model engines. If my math is right that should put it at about 220hp.

Also, the guy i bought this car from has an '87 N/A FC. His speedo cable snapped at about 170. The needle was at the p in mph on the speedometer.

Nope, they are exactly the same engines, block, turbo, IC, and fuel wise, so they make the same power. Emissions is dieffernt though. Sorry dude. (it'd be nice though...)

I agree here. With only a 3 inch full exhaust (and I mean nothing else) my TII went to 152mph. Honestly the car was not running that great then (when I first got it). I think at 15psi w/ proper a/f I could have had it to 165-170. Problem is, that (if I remember correctly), I was almost at redline in 5th gear when I let off.

I checked out the gearing on both the 86 and 90 TII's and as far as I know the 86' can hit 163 at 7k RPM in 5th and the 90' hits 162 at 7k in 5th. One question though, zenki and kouki/s4 and s5, which go to which?
