Cool Top speed in s4 n/a ? (or anyone else..but im mainly interested in s4 na )

was curious to see everyones top speed they have reached and at what rpm/gear etc...and with what mods (engine , watsize rims too cuz they affect top speed etc)

i am mostly interested in top speed of s4 n/a's since thats what i have . Or even some 1/4 times , 1/8 mile, 0-60 mph 60 ft etc would be nice to add

do a search for mazdaspeed7 he had a pretty badass street driven 6port. tached it out to 9500rpm but that was with a built motor.
im sure there are some top speed threads in this forum, and i guarantee half the posts are of N/A cars so try searching for top speed or something like that in the second gen forum

edit my top speed in my 85 GSL was 118mph btw
only mods were K&N, and advanced timing 5 degrees for a lil more torque/midrange. and that car came with 105hp, back in 1985, was still on original motor w/ 140k miles. but only weighed 2460lbs bone stock

Stock is 136mph. Takes forever, but the aerodynamics will get it there eventually.

Fastest I ever got my old n/a up to was around 145mph. It probably could have done more, but I can't remember if I ran out of road or traffic was ahead.

i would have trouble believing some of this, but i did once drive my NA up to 110 with a blown front rotor.

I had my n/a to 150 on the speedo but the tach had more room to go. I had my 17x7's on with 225/45. Intake, Full Exhaust, lightweight flywheel, 6 puck clutch and some other minor stuff.

I know mine goes 106 (and have the ticket to "prove" it).

Remember, the speedo tends to be a bit off at those speeds. To get an accurate measurement, GPS or "time the mile markers" is a good method.

I also didn't like the idea of running mine up above ~6k for the extended periods of time it would take to hit absurd speeds in 4th. I understand water pump cavitation with the stock pulleys starts somewhere around 6-6.5k RPM - not a good thing at sustained WOT.

130mph. Only tried to max it out once. That was in 4th at around 7500. Then I caught up to traffic on the expressway and had to reel her in. This was with a stock catback. Don't recall if my airbox was set up then...

Most automotive speedometers become fairly inaccurate above around 100mph, so if you're really going to make a claim of how fast you went it would probably more accurate (although not completely accurate) to use a speed/rpm/tire size calculation to say how fast you went.

On topic, my car (probably) broke 140mph because I reached 6000rpm (actually, SAFC-II read 5900rpm) in 5th gear before I let off. I can't say for sure how fast that is, but it should be around 144mph. When I was stupid enough to do that, my car was not supercharged and it had intake, header, cat-back, and a basic SAFC-II tune. Stock body, maybe I had aerodynamic windshield wipers and that HKS exhaust certainly helped with my aerodynamics, I mean come on, it's HKS, it does everything you need it to!
