Top Speed in an 88 vert?

I have an 88 vert with a cone filter and exhaust and a passenger. i was in 4th at 6k, and it seemed like it stopped pulling and wouldnt go any faster at 120mph. Is this right?

You were prob winding off the power band, it should go to 137mph, shift to 5th

I have a 88 vert with the same thing you do, including a passenger. I got my car up to 120 in 5th gear, but my clutch slips through the whole powerband so I didn't even try to go faster, I'm sure it would of went alot faster if I had a new clutch. There was a thread about 1month back that people posted their top speed, and I remember seeing a couple people who had their somewhat stock vert up to 140. Stock ports I know that for sure.

Top up, 88 verts should hit 124 MPH, and 89-92 verts should hit 125.

I have seen 126 on my vert and still had room to run, (I probably could hit 135-140 tops) but I do have a slightly built up motor.

I hit 130 (according to the speedo) once when i had pulled the AC and power steering off for a test...might have been slightly down hill to.

120 is about average.

I was at 138-140 at the end of 4th gear around 7000rpm. My car still pulls strongly after 100mph, but i noticed it pulled harder on top end when I installed an e-fan.

verts are around 125-135, varying on engine strength/mods/etc.

Ice, rat are correct. 125ish +mods

FYI, those that live or drive in the showme state - caught over 100mph its attempted homicide and a minimum two nights in jail. Have a friend I just bailed out at the tune of 2,000.00 cash after his second wonderful night in the local jail. HE was just running out his car on an empty highway . . .
