Top Plugs firing less than half the others?
It feels as if I have lost a little bit of performance with my 86 GXL . So I went through checking the simple things today and I found that the distributor caps(I forget what they are on the Rexs But...) which connect the wires to the 2 plugs at the top are firing less than half as fast as the other 2. Could this be the reason?
Please post A.S.A.P.
Thanks.

I wish I was driving!
No. The leading coil fires one wastespark, meaning a spark not meant to cause combustion. Since the leading coils have a single ignitor attached to two coils, they fire to both rorotrs at the same time, thus when the front rotor fires and combusts, the rear rotor leading fires as well, and the spark is wasted.
The trailing runs two separate ignitors attached to two separate coils, and each spark is sent only to it's intended rotor.
Thus, the leading plugs fire twice as many times as the trailing. This is normal.

Try checking your compression. Do you have cats? (they may be clogged)
How are you aware of the loss in power.
