Top end vibration

Well, this is the extent of the problem. I have been having it for a while now.

at high, e.g. over 4.5 grand RPM's, my car vibrates. I can really feel it in the shifter, but it goes through the whole car. past about 6 grand or so the car seems like it is losing power and does a "wa wa wa wa" number.... any ideas on what this could be? I am thinking it is a spark or fuel problem. The power seems a bit gutless uptop. Actually it seems a bit gutless all around... but then again I used to drive a TII till some ******* set it on fire.

Does your dash vibrate? I had the same problem after a certain mph, it was the driveshaft that was making the vibration, everytime I was on the gas at a higher rpm or mph it'd make that, look under your car and check it out.

its not dependant on speed, it is dependant on RPM.

I am checking out the 6PI system ATM, one of my actuators was stuck. It was stuck open, though, and unsticking it did not fix the problem. I am going to check for vac leaks in the 6PI system, maybe it is not opening the other actuator.

Could be something as simple as the tranny mount(s), the vibration part of it anyway...

The power loss could be any number of things, start with checking out all the sensors...

So will worn (mushy?) engine/tranny/diff mounts cause extra vibration? How much vibration is normal? My FC gets pretty buzzy through the shifter.

I am fairly sure it is no rotating mass after the transmission. If it were then it would be speed dependent and not RPM dependent. Since the problem is RPM dependent I figure it must either be a rotating mass before the transmission, a mount, ignition, or fuel.

I'll mess with the 6PI system more in the morning.

Not quite sure how you are defining RPM v. speed dependent. If it vibrates at high RPM's while driving in gear you have to consider front U joint. That's a classic symptom. If while driving you depress clutch neutral it and rev to over 4,500k and it vibrates think tranny and/or motor mounts, front wheel bearings, or something as simple are wheel balance. Get my drift?

The "wa wa wa" and power loss at 6,000 k may well be a totally different issue. Consider simple things first like fuel filter, fuel pump sock sludge, pump flow limited, or slightly restricted injectors.
