Micrometer and telescoping gages. A dremel and grinding stones if you are going to port it.

Feeler gauges and the Atkins rebuild video helps. The video actually tells you everything that you will need and shows you how to do it.

Is that all that is really required? I've been thinking ordering an Atkins video and rebuilding it on my own but I thought much more speciality tools were involved.

Don't forget a slim 14mm open end wrench for getting those damm oil metering valves, and a 10mm open combination wrench for oil pedestal and things like that.

TORQUE WRENCH
Air impact gun and 54mm and 19mm impact sockets would help tremendously.
ChemDip and lots of brass brushes for cleaning.

I should mention that if you are going to port, don't use a Dremel. It'll take 6 weeks... Use a die grinder to do the majority of material removal, then a dremel to finish off.

Floor jack, jack stands, plenty of beer, and a engine hoist.

No, No, No. The beer is for when you are removing/reinstalling the engine, as it dangles from a chain hanging off an overhead tree branch...

Ahh ya, plenty of beer, but watery beer like coors light or something. You don't wan't a good dark beer, the idea is to relax, take your time .. but not get **** faced.

Try it on your next build, I find they get 2X the mileage of a standard sober rebuild.

Not if you have a impact gun... without it prolly is. I have always used a impact.

Don't skimp on the beer though, it IS a must!

Try one hour per port.
