Took out P/S pump but now what?

I took out my power steering pump and now I have all 3 lines open. the top two lines with the screw down nuts that went into the pump go down wards along the right side of the engine, it goes from a short curved metal line to two long black hoses. i dont want to cap the lines right at the tips, so can i cut the black rubber hoses shorter and plug the lines at the end near the bottom of the radiator. and for the black coolant hose that went to the p/s pump also, can i cut that down and then plug it at its base?

also, if you guys have removed your p/s before BUT have kept your a/c, if you could post pics of the engine bay around that area it would be a big help. i thought the a/c p/s engine bracket was two pieces but i realize now it isnt. so im curious as what it looks like on your guys' cars. mines an s4 by the way. thanks.

thanks, it does, as i wasnt sure where most people cap it at.. the pump or down near the end. i see where the two feed lines go to now but theres no way i can get to unscrewing em without removing the a/c compressor. what a pain in the ***, but i dont wanna cap em at the pump, that looks just silly having two lines floating up top with bolts stuck in the end of em... the cooler line is good though, not sure im gonna remove the cooler itself as im not exactly sure where it is.. lots oh hoses down in that area covering it up.

ah one more question thought, i see people saying once the p/s is out the bracket can come out too.. but on mine it seems like tha bracket is holding both the p/s and a/c pump. so to remove the bracket i must also remove my a/c?

Yeah, we did it to my friend's gxl.... we noticed we couldn't get to the PS lines with the AC in the way, so we ripped it out too. But his AC didn't work anyway. The AC/PS bracket is one piece. Find an AC bracket from an FC that never had PS in the first place if you are going to keep the AC. I've got one if you want it.

i assume on base models they'd have a single bracket... hmm. well, could anyone point me to where the 'cooler' is? i'm contemplating removing that too since i already have the pump out, as long as it isnt too hard. i just cant seem to see where the cooling line goes to.

... that would be correct. Then again IMO if you're ***** enough to have to keep A/C you might as well keep p/s too.

GTU/s have a single bracket. I'm guessing the units /w A/C have the single bracket, and the units w/o a/c just didn't have a/c, so no one would really know either way.

PS Cooler is in front of the AC radiator, its just a hardline which makes a loop.
AC Cooler is in front of the coolant riaditor.
Oil cooler is in the far front, closest to the bottom and is about 6 inches tall.

so the PS cooler is actually another mini radiator at the front of my car? or am i misunderstanding you, cause thats a lot of radiators. right now as i look at my car i see the large coolant radiator, the A/C cooling radiator (i think), and a last one at the very front thats about, like you said, 6" tall, which must be the oil cooler. so the P/S cooler is where now..? yeah, im confused.

i do want to remove my a/c, i just havent researched on it yet, i didnt know i had a single bracket and not two =\ i plan to though eventually for now id like to finish the P/S removal even though the cooler isnt necessary.

^ please do! just a pipe eh? thing is i cant follow it, it gets covered up by two larger black hoses so im not sure where it goes (this is when im looking at the bottom right of the engine bay under the battery tray.)
