Took apart the intake manifold, now wont keep idle

Hello, I've been the owner of two rx7's, both are the only cars that I have ever owned. My first car was a 1981 base model Rx7 (white ), My second and present car is a 1987 S4 Turbo II Rx7 (Black ). During possesion of these two I have always done difference maintanence/updgrade/repairing jobs. My current job was to port my wastegate and upgrade her exhaust to a nice 3 incher. This was done, and it was done well. However after the installation of the intake manifold the car would not idle. I took the intake manifold apart and inspected, at the time I noticed a hose that I forgot to plug in (the one that leads to the intake) and reconnected it back up. After this she started and ran fine.

During the install the secondary injectors tips broke, so right after I had her up and running I was taking the intake manifold off right away to have the injectors replaced...............replaced, however now the car once again does not want to stay idle. Now it will stay idle if I press on the gas, however once I let off it will go to 1k and then die out. This time around I cannot find any particular hoses out of the ordinary, could any of you give me your input of which of the hoses/parts I should inspect.

Sincerly,
Sergei

Did you replace the gaskets? Check for vac leaks with carb cleaner.

^ why is it better than carb cleaner? Not doubting but just wanted to know.

EDIT: on a side not carb cleaner will discolor some black plastics and make them have white/grey blotches. My FCD and new Apexi power intake look ugly now.

starting fluid will raise RPMs when it leaks in a vac leak, and will not damage plastic, rubber, or paint

spray in it areas where you think there is an intake leak while the car is idling. This might be a little hard since your car wont hold an idle. I would guess it would have to be a big vac leak to not even idle at all. Did you plug in all the sensors and major hoses?
