Too much oil

Well, I finally managed to kill a rotary engine, or should I say my stupidity did. Some how I put my TII engine oil dipstick in my NA. I have found out (through a search on this site) that the TII dipstick is a litle shorther than the NA. So, when I filled the oil with the TII dipstick used as a measuring device, I inadvertently overfilled the engine crankcase (about 2 quarts is my guess). I drove it about 400 hundred miles last saturday and towards the end of the trip it ran roughly below 2000 rpm. The next day is when I found out that I had over filled it (was done my using a new NA dipstick). I imediately drained all oil from the crankcase and oil cooler. I replaced the oil filter as well. I could smell a residue of gas in the oil. I started it up and drove about 5 miles, and after I made a right hand turn, the engine lost almost all power, and it started popping. It runs smooth, then pop, runs smooth, then pop. There is absolutely no power. It will currently barely move (had to put it in the garage to begine the work on it).

Does anyone have a guess what happened to it internally? Is the engine salvagable?

Thanx

Do a compression check & get back to us.

600 CFM Holley

I have the RB Holley intake setup. I have plenty of fuel. I will check the compression as soon as I can find a tester.
