too much fuel pressure

getting way too much fuel pressure, in the 40-50s area.

gunna either check or replace the fuel pressure reg

procedures or fpr's recommended?

its a 87 n/a s4

How do you know there is too much pressure?.Do you have a gauge on it?.
what seems to be happening, that you refer to it as too much fuel pressure?

i had a guage on the fuel line where it it goes to the motor, it was a constant 45, when i would take the vac line off of the fpr, it would go up 5. when it actually starts, you can smell its running way too rich and it smokes like hell, my buddy couldnt follow me on the highway it was so bad
