Is this too much for this car?

I found a mint 86 RX7, with a brand new 89 engine in it.

The engine has 89 housings, SP. it also has higher compression rotors. 2 piece Chrome moly apex seals for nitro, Turbo bearings. Jaytech manifold extrude honed. Holly 750 DP Carb, RB header. Koni racing shocks, new A/C system.Accel ignition.

This car was built for this guys dad, he had a mid life itch and dumped alot of money into this car, they claim $10,000. When his dad went to pick up the car he drove it scared the **** outta him and he said **** that and its been sitting every since that day.

The engine has 375 miles on it, still has first oil change in it... Good deal or too much for $3000 cash?

Give advice before buying, thanks

i dont know much about anything, but that seems like a well built car..
i got my 88 TII for $1200, with 182,000 miles on it....runs good though...the interior is clean for the most part etc....
i have put about 800 bucks into it since then....
so lets just assume thats 2000 bucks for a car with almost 200,000 miles on it....
and yours has 375.... you can do the math on that one.

The only thing that jumps out at me as a red flag would be the fact that it sat. If it was for any length of time, make sure that it cranks ok. Also, if you do buy it, make sure you do the 500 mile oil change.

Other than that, where is it, exactly :P

If the car is clean, its worth it. Just make sure that they had it filled with a proper coolant mix, if they put in straight water or water wetter and water for break in and left it, the motor could be trashed....
