Too loud, suggestions please?

Just picked up a 91 n/a. Got a cat with two flowmasters (yeah, I know) but the thing is really just too loud. The resonance at cruising speed is rediculous, can't even have a conversation.
Any quicky add-ons I can do to take care of this until a better exhaust system is obtained?
Thanks for the help!

They are on my car right now and they don't sound half bad, exept for the fact that some exhaust gaskets inbetween the cats are leaking, and shipping threw USPS is cheaper that UPS, as I quoted it in that thread.

uh, maybe he doesn't have the stock stuff? He did say he just bought it, so that would mean that he probably doesn't.

get pre silencers? Or get mufflers with silencers in them.

Stock stuff LONG gone. Can a presilencer put in before the cat quiet it down some? Might be the cheapest way to go.

if youhave a header than put in a resonator! Mine was really loud so i know what you mean with trying to talk to some one kept getting pulled over too. Iput a resonator in and now its about a 30-50% quiter and havn't gotten pulled over yet.

Resonator, huh? Stupid question but I'm exhaust ignorant..would that need to be put in before/after the cat or somewhere else? Thanks for all the help, guys!

yeah, turbos are really the best muffler you can buy, but they do add a lot of backpressure

WTF? I'll pretend I didn't read that! Backpressure is frowned upon in turbocharging. You can't spool a turbo very well with a restrictive exhaust.

Purchase the racing beat exhaust. If monies are low, then custom make your own. Put stock dual mufflers on to the Y pipe, then have one straight through silencer where that cat is. Ditch the CATs! CATs restrict NAs and robb power badly. Should be plenty of flow after that.

Turbocharging does not make your car quieter BTW. In some applications, it resonates the sound, like my T66 does.

racing beat mufflers are not restrictive and are very very quiet and will bolt up to your stock pipes.
