Question Too LOUD?????

I've got a '91 N/A with fairly large streetported side housings as well as moderately ported series 6 rotor housings (obviously no diffusers). I'm hoping to buy the Racing Beat header, along with welding/ bolting on a Bonez 2.5" high flow catalytic converter--without the presilencer (from rx7.com) into the Racing Beat 2" O.D. y-pipe and dual aftermarket mufflers (ebay type). Will this setup be a little too loud?? I previously owned a widebody '83 GSL with the RB road-race header into two presilencers back to an aftermarket muffler (ebay type), and I thought it was bearable, but sometimes a little loud. But I believe that setup had the stock diffusers intact in the rotor housings. I really need a catalytic converter to pass emissions and/or to keep the exhaust note smoothed out a little. Yes, yes, I know all about trying to pass emissions with this sort of setup, but I''ll be using somewhat of a 50/50 gas and denatured alcohol mix that day to try and pass emissions. I'd love to use my existing cats to pass smog, but the stock cats that were on the car were already gutted when I got it. I'd really like to ditch the stock exhaust manifold, but if the car will be too loud, then I might have to bite my tongue. Cops are dicks around here when it comes to having a loud car.............then again, where is that NOT a problem?? Let me know what you guys think because I need to order this stuff soon.

Thanks,
Brian

well if you keep the stock exhaust mani. then it wouldnt be to bad, but if you get the header then it will definetely be loud. I dont think normal cops will do anything about it, but if you get a dick then he can and will

Get some better mufflers (racing beat or magnaflow) and it'll sound really nice.
Having a cat will keep things nice and quiet.

I had a similar setup engine wise, however I had a RB header, RB pre silencer, and a HKS 50mm dual catback. It wasn't that loud at all, however it used to drone around 3300rpms!

My rear view mirror shakes at 3300 rpms from my exhaust And the drone is there, well, always.

I think that setup should keep it fairly quiet, the cat will quiet it down a bunch.

Bonez race cat will help drown the sound out a little, but my setup is fooking LOUD.

i had the bonez 2.5 pipe with some nice custom made mufflers, quiet at low rpms but on the highway it would drone a bit but it was bearable, just made hearing difficult when i stopped to get gas after a few hours. headers on the other hand are damn loud, i wont put them back on until i find a baffle or something to quite them down.

The high flow cat is killing you!

I have a 3 inch DP, a magnaflow 3 high flow cat, and the "corksport exhaust" (actually the one from ebay), it is stupid loud; however the same setup but with a borla 3 inch muffler as a MP (instead of the magnaflow high flow cat) the car is MUCH quieter, even the wife likes it

Great!! Thanks for all your help guys!!! I'll definitely go for the Racing Beat header then!!! As for the mid-section? Well, I guess it'll either be the high flow Bonez cat, Borla muffler as a presilencer, or something like it. I'll just have to be a little "careful" about which mufflers I get!!
