Yea, 14.5v running is just fine. If it were really running at 12.6v or so, you'd know it, because your battery wouldn't charge and eventually would drain.

13.5 with the car off? It should be a bit lower... usually around 12.6 or so.

When I was doing FIRST robotics stuff back in high school, we used 12V motorcycle batteries and they'd put out a good 13.3-13.5V when fully charged.

Huh. Ok. I'll have to stick a voltmeter on mine again at some point.

Get an aftermarket temp gauge so you know for sure.

Right, but you have an S5. S4 temp gauges operate differently.

My 87 temp gauge ran 1/2 to 2/3 scale all the time, even in winter.
These gauges are sort of approximate.
If your not hearing any boiling at shutdown, or not loosing coolant, you're probably OK.

The 1/2 mark on an S4 is hotter than normal temps, something is wrong with the car PERIOD. If it's not losing coolant or boiling over you can STILL have a problem like a bad thermostat (my guess is this is the problem), a radiator in need of flush/replacement. I'd get it fixed ASAP.
